Dallas

Adjacent to Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, the Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital is an award-winning, Magnet-recognized, and fully accredited heart hospital in Dallas serving residents in more than 10 cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The 59-bed hospital includes four surgical suites, six catherization labs and four electrophysiology labs.

Fort Worth

Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital - Fort Worth is committed to bringing advanced heart and vascular services to Fort Worth and Tarrant County. Located on the fifth and sixth floors of Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center - Fort Worth in the heart of the city's medical district, the 50,000-square-foot diagnostic and treatment center includes 28 beds and provides expanded cardiac services and great access to research and clinical trials.

Waxahachie

Baylor Scott & White Health Heart and Vascular Hospital's latest addition is part of an overall campus expansion for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Waxahachie. Baylor Scott & White hosted its ribbon cutting ceremony in July 2023 to commemorate the future opening of the facility for a continuum of cardiac care from the emergency department to cardiac rehabilitation.

Cardiovascular Essentials Internship
This eight- to 10-week program offers classroom learning, as well as clinical experience, with a preceptor to give the telemetry nurse the knowledge needed to work in a cardiac telemetry area. Content includes basic EKG interpretation, cardiac anatomy and physiology, use of emergency drugs, emergency protocols, ABG interpretation and management, lab interpretation, interventional cardiovascular procedures, acute stroke, myocardial infarctions, heart failure and pacemakers. Internships begin in January and June.

Critical Care Essentials Internship
The program is offered twice a year on an "as-needed" basis. Content includes EKG interpretation; use of emergency drugs; emergency protocols; ABG interpretation and management; hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial, CVP, pulmonary artery, and cardiac output monitoring; mechanical ventilation management; lab interpretations and medical ethics. Internships begin in June and September.

Operating Room Internship
This 16- to 20-week perioperative internship, based on AORN standards, will include classroom, computer-based activities and clinical experiences. Nurses will acquire the professional nursing knowledge and skills necessary to promote safe passage and optimize outcomes of patients undergoing operative or other invasive procedures in the surgical setting. Internships begin in January and June.
